I watched 10 minutes of the debate on ABC before switching to the WSJ feed. Disgusting. The bottom THIRD of the screen handed over to live tweets—random commentary! Curated by the network, wildly influencing one's ability to actually watch. And then they would publish spin doctor pull quotes, live, mid-speech, colored blue for Obama and red for Romney. Absolutely disgusting and reprehensible. Why bother having the audience be quiet if the screen is a playground for video editors to decide what we should be seeing? I feel like I'm a naive idiot, but I really didn't think that a presidential debate would get that kind of treatment.
